Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Marah Strauch's documentary Sunshine Superman examines the life of Carl Boenish, a man who set records in, and helped popularize, the activity of BASE jumping -- which involves jumping off of either buildings, antennas, spans, or the Earth. With a mixture of archival footage privately recorded by Boenish, as well as reenactments, the filmmakers showcase how his drive to jump from greater and greater heights, and live a life unencumbered by fear, made him a role model to many, and also led to his early death.
