Synopsis by Kaitlin Elise Miller
Director Randall Wright reveals the world of L'Arche (French for "the Ark"), a forest commune outside of Paris. Founded in 1964 by Canadian Catholic philosopher Jean Vanier for people with intellectual disabilities and their caretakers, the community seeks to support and celebrate its residents. Eight of the commune's members, including some who were formerly institutionalized, share their struggles to build relationships and participate in a society that would rather contain them behind walls.
