Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The Summer Girl was evidently intended as a movie vehicle for vaudevillian Dave Ferguson, even though Mollie King was afforded top billing. King was cast as Mary Anderson, a wealthy young girl who poses as the daughter of a humble laundress. She does this to win the love of artist Bruce Haldeman (Arthur Ashley), who harbors a resentment against the rich and privileged. When Mary's father goes broke, she tells the truth to Bruce, who is delighted. But before hero and heroine can plight their troth, Mary must wriggle out of an arranged marriage with a status-conscious nobleman -- and that's the role played by the redoubtable Dave Ferguson.
