Synopsis by Janiss Garza

A simple Irish blacksmith, Garry Garrity (William Desmond) gets word from America that he has inherited his uncle's vast estate. When he arrives in the U.S., his rough manners irritate his cousin Louise Evans (Mary McIvor), who is already mad that she isn't the sole heir. But Garry learns to become a gentleman, and she comes to appreciate him, much to the chagrin of her mercenary suitor, Count Louis Caminetti (Jack Richardson). To get Garry out of the way, the Count plans a frame-up at a roadhouse with an agreeable woman. This sours the relationship between Garry and Louise, but only temporarily, since Garry thrashes the Count into admitting the scheme. As a result, the couple are reunited.
