Thanit "Pued" Jitnukul directed this fact-based Thai historical action thriller inspired by a Robin Hood-like figure admired by post-WWII peasants in Thailand. Giving up a life of privilege, Sua Bai (Amphon Lumpoon) maintains a well-stocked, idyllic forest compound and conducts guerilla forays to return resources to the poor who have been victimized by corrupt exploiters. Police Captain Ying (Dom Hetrakul) gets the assignment to bring down Sua Bai, while other factions would like to see Sua Bai assassinated. After a destructive raid on his compound, Sua Bai journeys south toward the rubber plantations. Shown at the 1998 Vancouver Film Festival.
