Synopsis by Janiss Garza
The slapstick romance featured Vim Studios favorite Ethel Burton and the popular comic duo of Walter Stull and Bobby Burns as Pokes and Jabbs. Burton plays Ethel, a pretty orphan, who goes to live with her Uncle Grab. Instead of indulging the girl's singing aspirations, the uncle forces her to become a drudge. Ethel is courted by the wealthy Jabbs, with greedy Uncle Grab's approval, but Ethel really loves Pokes, a violin player. To get together enough money to marry her, Pokes sells his violin only to discover that Ethel loved him for his music. He frantically tries to get the violin back, but Ethel weds Jabbs anyhow. The marriage is less than successful; henpecked Jabbs fathers ten children and is forced to do all the housework, while Ethel kicks back and reads novels. Pokes comes to the realization that while he's a loser in love, he really has won after all.
