Synopsis
Cowichan sweaters combine the ancient wool-working traditions of the Coast Salish people of southern Vancouver with knitting techniques passed on by English and Scottish settlers; yet the story of those who made them has so far remained untold. Filmmaker Christine Welsh explores the world of the women behind the sweaters, lending a voice to the Aboriginal women who have created this distinctive symbol of Canada's West Coast.
