Synopsis by Mark Deming

Mashing together industrial, metal, and punk influences, Static-X became an unlikely success story when their abrasive debut album Wisconsin Death Trip went platinum in 2001. Static-X: Where the Hell Are We and What Day Is it...This Is Static-X is a documentary (produced with the participation of the band) that examines their rise to fame and the many odd detours along the way, reaching back to Wayne Static's days in a Chicago hard rock band Deep Blue Dream and concluding with Static-X's adventures on the road with former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne as they perform on the annual Ozzfest tour. Songs performed include "Push It," "Bled for Days," and "I'm With Stupid."
