Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Veteran British funster Jimmy Jewel was the "Autumn" to newcomer Charlie Hawkins' "Spring" in this weekly ITV sitcom. The series explored all the comic possibilities inherent in the unlikely friendship between a young sprout named Charlie Harris (Hawkins) and a cranky old pensioner named Tommy Butler (Jewel). Spring and Autumn made its first appearance as a one-off special in 1972, with a slightly different supporting cast. The 26-episode series proper was seen in Britain from 1973 to 1977.
