The mix of music western shenanigans, sci-fi melodrama and hayseed comedy is uneasy at best but Roy Rogers' pleasant personality and good work by ace Republic nemesis Grant Withers almost carry the day. Almost, but not quite. For that, Sloan Nibley's screenplay is too simplistic and the acting of the supporting cast too broad.
