Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Spider Webs is one of the few American films directed by British filmmaker Wilfred Noy. Niles Welch stars as Bert Grantland, a young man-about-town who gets mixed up in the problems of heroine Florence Benham (Alice Lake). Hoping to retrieve a packet of incriminating letters, poor Florence finds herself facing a murder rap. Grantland believes in Florence's innocence, and it is he who ultimately tracks down and captures the real miscreants. Spider Webs was lensed entirely on location in New York City, offering tantalizing glimpses of the Big Apple as it looked in 1927.
