Synopsis by Alice Day
Science students and viewers with an interest in science and technology are the intended audience for this series of programs dealing with space age technology. More uses for innovations developed for the space program are demonstrated in Space Tech: From Astronauts' Tests to Astronauts' Toys. Even disasters such as the 1967 Apollo launchpad fire yielded information that led to developments for industry. Cordless vacuum cleaners, airbags, eye-screening tests for children, and the many uses of ultrasound are discussed in this episode. A group of toys accompanied astronauts on a mission to examine their performance in low-gravity situations.
