Space Science in Action: Earth's Atmosphere shows how the atmosphere blocks the more harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. Any damage to this thin layer of gases can have dire results for the well-being of humans. These programs are aimed at students in grades five through eight, and mix fun in with the instruction.
