Sally Struthers, The 700 Club, and Evangelical Christians are some of the entities that suffer the satiric slings of South Park in this episode. The Ethiopian adopted by Kenny, Kyle, Stan, and Eric back in the first Thanksgiving special, Starvin' Marvin, shows up in South Park flying a spaceship that crashed in Ethiopia. Marvin's attempts to find his people a new home on the planet Marklar, but is being hindered by "The 600 Club." A humorous reference to The Greatest American Hero adds to "Starvin' Marvin in Space" which aired for the first time November 17, 1999, on Comedy Central.
