Oliver Hardy, fatter than he would be later in his long career, is typically bashful and flirtatious in this otherwise rather crude farce, made even cruder by the fact that the girl wears a question mark on her chin. She is billed as "Billie Rhodes" but is rather obviously an impostor -- hence, we assume, the question mark. The slapstick is of the most elementary kind but Something in Her Eye is of course historically important as one of Hardy's earliest surviving films.
