Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
A young man from a small Moroccan town goes to Casablanca to seek his fortune. Hadi (Amidou) secures a position as an office clerk. His co-workers finally get him to socialize, and he meets the beautiful Fatima (Fatima Regraful) while dancing. She expresses to him her desire to marry a successful man and have a family. Hadi goes to night school and works hard to earn a promotion, but his math skills give him trouble. Eventually, he moves back to the village but finds he no longer has anything in common with his old friends, so once again he pulls up stakes, sells the family home, and returns to Casablanca. Able to afford further education, he renews his efforts to improve his professional position in order to marry Fatima, and his later promotion at work gives him the confidence to ask for her hand in marriage.
