Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Wealthy Vincent Manton (Howard Hickman) is saddled with a selfish, social-climbing wife named Lucille (Katherine Kirkham), whose efforts to maintain a suitably lavish lifestyle all but bankrupt her husband. When the bank cuts off her account, Lucille holds Vincent responsible and angrily divorces him. Disillusioned, Manton divests himself of his remaining funds and heads to the gold fields of Alaska, hoping to start life all over again. Falling in love with virtuous dance-hall girl Rose (Rhea Mitchell), Manton is gratified that he has at last met a woman who loves him for himself and not his material possessions. Even so, once he strikes it rich again Manton heads back to the States, hoping to effect a reconciliation with the fickle Lucille. At long last awakening to the fact that Lucille isn't worth the effort, Manton returns to his faithful Rose. Produced independently, Social Ambition was distributed by Goldwyn.
