Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Zdenek Tyc's Smradi (Brats) is a drama about racial tension and its affects on a family. Monika Sir (Petra Spalkova) and her husband Marek (Ivan Trojan) have a pair of adopted Romany boys Lukas (Jan Cina) and Frantisek (Lukas Rejsek). They also have a young biological son named Matej (Tomas Klouda). The family has moved in order to lessen the racial-tension felt by their adopted sons, but trouble starts when a man accuses Frantisek of breaking a window. An excursion planned by Lukas leads to a misunderstanding of their motives. Brats was screened at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
