Synopsis by Hal Erickson
After being reported missing in Indonesia while serving with the Marines, Whitney Fordman (Eric Johnson), former boyfriend of Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) abruptly returns to Smallville. Not unexpectedly, Whitney's presence causes a strain in the blossoming relationship between Lana and Clark Kent (Tom Welling). Soon, however, Clark begins to suspect that Whitney is harboring a sinister secret -- one that involves Tina Greer (Lizzy Caplan), the shapeshifting nemesis introduced in the first-season episode "X-Ray."
