Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Two con men, Swell Dresser (Fred Tilden) and Slim McClearn (Mark Elliston) get stuck for the night in a small town. But their time isn't wasted because they find hotel clerk Ernie Cledhill (Taylor Holmes) an easy mark. They convince him to go to the big city to help with one of their schemes. Because of Cledhill's naiveté, however, a detective catches him but lets him go with a warning. Cledhill is embarrassed to admit his troubles to his sweetheart, Eleanor (Helen Ferguson), and then his aunt, believing that he made good, leaves him her fortune. The con men, who smell money, try to blackmail him, and he becomes the boob in a land deal. But it turns out that the property is needed for a dam, and he makes a killing. This gives him enough guts to finally slug it out with the two cons.
