Synopsis by Perry Seibert
This entry in ESPN's popular documentary series 30 for 30, directed by award-winning filmmaker Mike Tollin, examines the meteoric rise and fall of the United States Football League, which attempted to compete directly with the almighty NFL in the early '80s. By including archival footage alongside new interviews with many of the league's players and owners -- including Steve Young, Burt Reynolds, and the controversial Donald Trump -- Tollin attempts to show how greed and mismanagement scuttled what could have been a very successful enterprise.
