Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Based on the American dating-game series of the same name, the British Singled Out was originally hosted by Richard Blackwood. On each 30-minute episode, a female contestant chose a date from a large pool of eligible bachelors (sight unseen), basing her decision on the candidates' answers to her various questions. Halfway through the proceedings, a male contestant selected a female companion using the same process. Debuting in 1998, this version of Singled Out was seen on both Channel Five and Britain's MTV cable service.
