The two central characters in this romance-drama are a Western woman (Anna Prucnalova) and a sensible, local man (Dimo Kolarov) who meet at a Bulgarian resort town. As their relationship develops, she reveals that she is deeply afraid the world will sink into another horrendous war, involving atomic weapons and possibly total annhilation. He is equally certain that the mistakes made in World War II have no chance of being repeated, and tries to reassure her. But in the midst of her fears she imagines a vivid scene of the aftereffects of an atomic bomb blast -- and makes up her mind about her relationship to this caring young man.
