Silent Avenger stars "Thunder," Gotham Pictures' answer to Warner Bros.' champion dog star Rin Tin Tin. The story begins as Thunder accompanies his master, the son of a railroad president, to Tennessee, where the "human" hero hopes to secure right-of-way through a farm. The boy falls in love with the farmer's daughter, while his father, anxious to start laying track, fumes in his office. By and by, hero and heroine get mixed up in a mountain feud, obliging Thunder to take a hand (or paw) in things. Slow going for its first 5 reels, Silent Avenger truly comes to life in its final ten minutes.
