Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

Biker chicks are the focus of this interesting documentary that looks beyond the stereotyped images to create portraits of five startlingly different women. One of the women is 82-year old biker Dot Robinson who is seen gadding about Florida astride her pink motorcycle. It turns out she was a competitive rider in the 1930's. Middle-class woman, Jo Giovannoni started Harley Women magazine after she got tired of reading male oriented biker mags. Jacqui Sturgess leads the Sirens, a lesbian gang. She is followed while she coordinates their participation in New York's gay pride parade. Another group, the all black Cobras organize family camp outs. Robinson's Motor Maids wear detailed uniforms, including white gloves. Included is archival footage and clips from "The Wild One."
