Review by Brian J. Dillard

A plot involving piccolos, poison, and mind control, a sleazy supporting turn from Erik Estrada and a welcome return from TV-movie queen Meredith Baxter elevate this comedy-mystery almost to the status of camp classic. The Family Ties veteran stars as an imprisoned burglar who gets a reprieve from lock-up in order to assist a bumbling detective as he investigates several mysterious deaths. Baxter lays it on thick, adopting a broad, unbelievable Brooklyn accent and hamming her way though scenes that alternate between prison cells and country clubs. Meanwhile, co-star Robert Urich, in total Spenser for Hire mode, attacks his role with the same determined professionalism that served him throughout his long and varied TV career. Intrigue, murder, and unlikely romance -- She Knows Too Much has all the hallmarks of a first-rate thriller, and the script and production values of a syndicated sitcom.
