Charles Montgomery 'Spike' Stewart was the do-it-all director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor for this trippy, scattershot parody of Twelfth Night. Not to be confused with the other Plan 10 from Outer Space (1994), this one stars Kay Lenz as a pair of male and female twins and is awash with Shakespearian references. Like many novice filmmakers, Stewart overdoes the optical video effects, presumably using every function his new video software suite had to offer, as well as intertitles and a laugh track. Still, it's pretty well-paced and may find a niche as a drug movie, particularly with a cast including cult favorites Buck Henry, Bruce Glover, and Mark Mothersbaugh, as well as the real Billy Hayes (the subject of Midnight Express) and Grant Loud (one of the subjects of the groundbreaking documentary An American Family). Needless to say, crossover potential is limited.
