When a young dramatist who draws on personal experience travels to a remote village to pen a play about rural living, he finds an unlikely muse in the form of a naïve country girl. Emerging playwright Pavithran is known by the nickname "Shakespeare" for his popular contributions to Jayabharathy Theatres. His plays are so affecting that they have the power to transform lives, and theater proprietor Kottayam Gopalan places great value in his work. When Gopalan sends Pavithran to a small village in the country in order to write a play about rural living, they playwright travels to his destination and awaits inspiration. Before long he meets a wide-eyed country girl named Alli who is a picture of rural innocence. As he begins to learn her story, the foundation of his play gradually comes into focus.
