A shift in time and space transports two young siblings to a mythical town that has come under attack from dark forces in this fantasy adventure for the entire family. When Frank and Caroline find themselves in Attic Town, they are shocked to find the citizens suffering under the tyranny of the Great Syndicate. Patrolling Thieves stalk the sunlit streets in search of victims, and when darkness falls, the Shadows snatch anyone in sight. Later, while attempting to find a way back home, Frank and Caroline become separated. As Frank falls in with a Patrolling Thief, Caroline attempts to track him down before night falls, and they're lost forever. Meanwhile the locals rise up against the Great Syndicate, making the prospect of escape a risky endeavor.
