Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx

The question of romance versus sex is held up for inspection under some particularly harsh fluorescent lighting for the girls when their dilemmas force them to question certain aspects of their respective lifestyles. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) questions her own attitudes when Aidan (John Corbett) tells her he wants to take things slowly, making her realize she's used to passing up romance for sex. Samantha (Kim Cattrall), for whom sex is as unpremeditated an act as breathing, is forced to move out of her building after her neighbors discover that the robber who attacked a tenant snuck in behind Samantha's latest late-night fling. Charlotte (Kristin Davis), meanwhile, discovers that it's not only sticks and stones that hurt when the man she's dating makes a habit of verbally abusing her during sex. And Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) must deal with sexual peril of another kind when she is diagnosed with chlamydia and forced to inform all of her ex-bedmates of her infection.
