Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx

During a party Samantha (Kim Cattrall) throws at her new apartment, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), tormented by guilt over her fling with Big (Chris Noth), confesses her indiscretion to Samantha. Wondering if she's trying to have it all by dating Aidan (John Corbett) -- who is committed and trustworthy -- and sleeping with the unpredictable and titillating Big, Carrie is forced to lie to the former, who discovers she's started smoking again. Carrie tells Aidan she'll quit, meaning cheating as much as smoking, and when Big informs her that he's leaving Natasha, Carrie tells him to reconsider. Samantha, meanwhile, learns some hard facts when she comes down with the flu and none of her men will take care of her, while Charlotte (Kristin Davis) does some hard bargaining with Trey's mother, Bunny (Frances Sternhagen), and ends up with a cushy pre-nup agreement. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), for her part, takes some lessons in phone sex from George, the out-of-towner she's dating, but becomes an unwilling pupil when she learns that George (Josh Hamilton) has been enjoying fiber-optic bliss with other women.
