Synopsis by Phil Griffin
Based on the true story of black outlaw John Kepe, who in the 1950s stole from the rich white farmers of South Africa to give back to the Indigenous poor for a reign of over 12 years. Risking his life in a time of the apartheid regime, John Kepe was something of a hero to the Indigenous population in years where deadly racism was rife, though the white farmers paint a picture of him as a dangerous menace to society. Jahmil X.T. Qubeka directs this film about race, history and folklore.
