Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
In this thought-provoking drama, a young boy from India finds himself caught up in a struggle between his natural mother and the Canadian woman who wants to adopt him. There would be no issue at all had not the boy's father, believing his family too impoverished to raise him properly and wanting his son to have a better life, sold him to an adoption agency. Carole has had two miscarriages and desperately wants a child, hence her trip to India. The father, however, did not tell his wife Seetha of his plan, and when Carole arrives to get the child, Seetha strongly objects. Much of the film's best parts center on her struggle to reconcile herself to a painful and difficult decision.
