Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This film takes the viewer inside Tibet before and after the Chinese invasion of that country. Rare archival film footage captures festivals at the Potala, the Dalai Lama's summer residence, and at the Jokang Temple. Film coverage of the siege of the Garden Monastery is included, along with the destruction wreaked by the Chinese on thousands of Tibetan monasteries. There are scenes of Tibetans rebuilding their homes and their lives in the post-China era.
