Review by Jeremy Wheeler

Swinging bisexuality never sounded as witty or looked as sensuous as in Radley Metzger's erotic masterpiece Score. The bubbling tale of seduction bounces along thanks to an inspired script filled with wordplay that's unequaled in any erotic film of its kind. Carried over from the original play is Claire Wilbur as the delightful, quick-tongued seductress Elvira. She and Gerald Grant are deliciously perfect as the world's friendliest couple, while Lynn Lowry and Calvin Culver have the duty of going from prudes to preciously converted under the duo's incessant and gleeful manipulations. Throughout the steamy tale, Metzger paints a highly stylized picture that comes complete with acid-tinged color schemes and expert camerawork, injecting each scene with artful inspiration that, coupled with expert sound design, makes Score simply irresistible from beginning till end. Though the softcore version is preferred by most (including Metzger himself), it does feature some jerky editing that takes away from the fluidity of the original hardcore orgy-riffic ending.
