Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Little Brigitta (Annette Berndt) does not consider herself so very little - she is 13 years old after all - and she definitely does not want to be subjected to yet another vacation with her parents. Not yet old enough for her vote to count, she reluctantly gets into the family car as they head for an island resort. The car itself, however, does not acquiese to these plans and just before the family reaches the ferry out to the island, it breaks down. Grabbing their gear, the whole family trods the last mile to the ferry, and they make it to the island - only to find that their transportation problems are not over. They (and the conductor) barely catch the train to their rented rooms on the other side of the island, and then discover that the vacationers' building looks a lot like the apartment complex they have back home. In spite of these setbacks, the family makes the best of it - and Brigitta finds a new young friend to hang out with, along with some interesting local folk and their fishing boat. Maybe the vacation will turn out okay after all.
