Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx
In this documentary tribute to both Sao Paulo and a distinctive form of Brazilian music, Brazilian-born, Paris-based documentary maker Cesar Pares gives audiences a glimpse into the world of cantadores, street troubadours who bring their astonishing talent to the Sao Paulo streets from Brazil's poorer northeastern regions. The cantadores rap either solo or in groups, but always with unbelievable rapidity, impressing even those sophisticates who think they have seen -- or heard -- it all.
