Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

A combination of good music and entertaining classical dance enliven this story of Sastry (J.V. Somayajulu), a romantic balladeer (a raga singer) who is loved by a prostitute/dancer that literally kills her pimp to obtain her freedom to be with him. Unfortunately, the duo fails as a musical team, but the son she will soon bring into the world is another matter. When the couple split, the son is raised apart from his father, and it is many years later before the mother brings her now-grown son to live with the father he never knew. The young man needs training so he can begin his own singing career - and his talent seems to have been inherited from the male side of his parentage. There is hope for success in this generation that the parents, separate or together, were not able to achieve.
