Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Set in a rundown suburban London neighborhood, Sanctuary featured a flock of dedicated nuns as protagonists. Tirelessly working to improve the lot of their parishioners, the aforementioned sisters occasionally underwent crises of faith, which they generally managed to work out among themselves. Veteran actress Fay Compton headed the cast of this weekly, hour-long drama series, which was created by Philip Levene. The 26 episodes of Sanctuary were broadcast in Britain by Associated Rediffusion beginning June 29, 1967.
