Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The title character in the British sitcom Sam's Game was a flirtatious young woman, played by Davina McCall. Sam shared a London flat with her platonic friend Alex (Ed Byrne), a confirmed neurotic. The two roommates interacted on a weekly basis with Alex's best friend and next-door neighbor, Phil (Tristan Gemmill), an unabashed narcissist who had a yen for Sara, and upstairs neighbor Marcia (Tameka Empson), a gossipy waitress. If the whole thing sounded a lot like the American hit Friends, chances were that the resemblances were not entirely coincidental. Making its ITV debut on May 14, 2001, Sam's Game yielded six half-hour episodes during its first season on the air.
