Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur
A team of girls fight demons in the feature-length anime adventure Sakura Wars: The Movie, based on the wildly popular video game, anime series, and merchandise line. Set in Tokyo during the late '20s, the film follows the adventures of Sakura Shinguji and her friends. By day they belong to a musical theater group called the Imperial Operetta Flower Troupe Division. By night they fight against giant mechanical monsters called the Kouma. This time around the bad guy is corporate CEO Brent Furlong, head of the Douglas-Stewart Company. In 2003, Sakura Wars: The Movie saw an extremely limited theatrical release in the States before its release on DVD.
