Synopsis by Janiss Garza
In this story of multiple mistaken identities, the Reverend Paul Martin (Henry B. Walthall) is on a hunting trip when he reads of his own death. Realizing that an error was made, he returns to the city where he saves a newsboy from being bullied. The newsboy claims him as his father, the long-lost Joe Farley. Martin decides to go along with this and actually wins the love of Farley's wife Mary (Mary Charleson). Although he's no longer a practicing minister, Martin takes the values he acquired to the slums where he now lives and becomes a leader among the people there. When his secret is revealed he decides to stay there and marry Mary rather than return to his former, more fashionable congregation.
