Based on a popular kids' book by acclaimed author Amy Tan, the animated program Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat became a mini-sensation when it premiered on PBS in 2001, racking up scores of grade school-aged viewers and winning an Emmy award in the process. Set in medieval China, the episodes concern the everyday adventures of a litter of kittens, including title kitty Sagwa, her brother Dongwa, and sister Sheegwa. Included on Sagwa: Feline Frenzy are 30 minutes -- two individual stories -- from the program.
