Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The fact that this film was shown at the Berlin Film Festival in 1974 is perhaps the most significant thing about it: this marks a significant official acknowledgment of the existence of West Germany. A typical propaganda piece about collective farming, it is embellished with a pleasant romantic story. This film was the first to be directed by Russian cinema's well-known romantic leading man, Rodion Nakhapetov.
