Synopsis by Alice Day
What's it like to be an adolescent girl? American Girls - Identity and Adolescence: Run Like a Girl answers the question by interviewing a number of young girls of varied backgrounds and allowing the viewer to listen as they talk about the issues most important to their age group. These involve appearance, insecurity, friendship, relationships with boys, eating disorders, and depressive episodes. As they express their concerns, it becomes apparent that many of the girls have worked through their problems and display a resilience that is necessary to survive the adolescent years.
