Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Two towns compete for the title of "Turkey Capitol of the World" in this documentary from director Erik McCowan. Worthington, MN, and Cuero, TX, are two towns that share a rich history of turkey farming. Each year, both towns take part in a heated competition known as The Great Gobbler Gallop. While turkey production may not play the same role it did in the South Texas town of Cuero decades ago, the feathered influence on this community is still readily apparent in everything from the annual Turkeyfest to the championship Gobblers football team. In addition to exploring the origins of the Great Gobbler Gallop -- a spectacular display of poultry prowess known as the Turkey Trot -- McCowan's film also details the heated race that will determine the outcome of the year's big event. As Paycheck and Ruby Begonia trot their way to the starting line, the race begins to find out which town will take the turkey trophy this time around.
