When Michael (Brendan Fehr) breaks into the UFO research lab in hopes of finding information related to his origins, he is caught by Max's (Jason Behr) box and arrested by Sheriff Valenti (William Sadler). Max is forced to lie in order to protect Michael, and convinces his boss not to press charges. Back at school, the ever-scheming Ms. Topolski (Julie Benz) has assigned students to conduct a series of interviews with one another, and purposely paired the students off in a way she hoped would bring her the most information. Meanwhile, Michael steals Maria's (Majandra Delfino) car in an attempt to drive to Marathon, TX, to find the geodesic dome that he hopes will answer some of his questions.
