Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

The career of Canadian hockey legend Maurice Richard is explored in this release that traces the Montreal Canadiens puck slinger from his start on the ice in the early 1940s to the 1955 riot that broke out after Clarence Campbell suspended Richard from the game. When Richard took to the ice sports fans knew they were going to get a good show, and with a swing that was too fast for cameras to capture, the man in the number nine jersey made history during the 1944-45 season when he scored fifty goals in fifty games. In this release Richard talks about his spectacular career as archive footage rolls to show just why the man affectionately known as "Rocket" remains one of the most beloved hockey players ever to swing a hockey stick.
