With their unique blend of punk and reggae, the Police were one of the most popular rock bands of the late '70s and early '80s. This entry in the BBC series Rock Masters features a 1979 live performance by the band that, among other things, launched the career of Sting. Among the songs in Rock Masters: The Police are "Roxanne" and "Message in a Bottle." Other volumes in the series include Rock Masters: Hall & Oates and Rock Masters: Emmylou Harris.
