Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Actress-divas Sarah Walker, Kathleen Tynan and Yvonne Brennan co-headline this 1988 production of Ralph Vaughan Williams's one-act opera Riders to the Sea, adapted from the short play by J.M. Synge. Like its source material, it deals with the strain-filled life of Aran fishermen immigrants who have settled on the coast of Ireland. The Radio Telefís Éireann Chamber Choir and Concert Orchestra provide added musical accompaniment.
